A single annual prepayment of £19.30 for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) prescriptions will be introduced from 1 April 2023. This will be known as ‘HRT only Prepayment Certificate’ (HRT PPC). As many HRT products contain more than one drug (cost of £9.65 per drug), this will be a considerable annual saving for patients who currently pay for their prescriptions.

Patients can apply for the certificate through the NHS Business Services Authority website from 1st April 2023.
