Visiting Phlebotomist

We have a weekly clinic where a hospital phlebotomist (blood taker) attends. This clinic is on a Friday morning and we endeavour to put all appointments for blood tests into these slots.

Midwifery Service

Our community midwife leads all antenatal care for expectant mothers. She offers appointments at the surgery on Wednesday afternoons.

Messages can be left for our midwife at the surgery or if more urgent, she can be contacted on 0300 421 6175 and requesting the antenatal clinic.

District Nurses

The practice is supported by a team of District Nurses who offer care in the community to those who are housebound or suffering with a terminal illness. You can contact the district nursing team via 0300 421 6070 option 2.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Improved Access Appointments

From 1 April 2018 the following practices are participating in a pilot scheme to offer SEVEN DAY access to a GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner appointment: Leckhampton; Seven Posts;

Sixways; Stoke Road and Winchcombe Medical Centre. This means that appointments will be available at one of the listed practices on a rotating basis outside of normal working hours.

These appointments are pre-bookable through your normal practice, but please note there is no telephone access to the surgeries after 6.30pm Monday to Friday or at weekends.

For urgent appointments, on Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday up until 8pm, a countywide service will be provided from three central locations in Cheltenham, Stroud and Gloucester.

We hope that our patients will find these ‘Improved Access’ appointments helpful, particularly those people who need to book appointments outside of normal working hours.
